Number Pattern Board Game for Years 3 and 4

This board game has students answering question cards about number patterns to progress and be the first to finish. Question types include:

  • in/out tables: What Is the Rule?
  • in/out tables: Name the Missing Numbers
  • missing numbers in a sequence
  • number pattern word problems.

To play players spin the spinner and move their token that amount of spaces. If the space says ‘DRAW’, they draw a question card, solve the number pattern problem and write the answer on the whiteboard. Watch out for other spaces that have special instructions!

Through this activity, students will show that they can name missing numbers in patterns that use addition and subtraction and identify the rule of the pattern.
