Use this NAPLAN-style rubric to assess students’ biography writing as you prepare students for Year 5 tests.

This assessment rubric for biography writing can be used to determine whether students are working below expectations, to expectations or above expectations in the following areas:

audience
text structure
selection of life events
voice/tone
vocabulary
cohesion
paragraphing
sentence structure
punctuation
spelling.

This resource may be helpful for teachers to use when preparing students for the NAPLAN Writing Test.
