What Are Number Talks?
Number talks are brief, daily maths exercises aimed at encouraging students to have productive and engaging discussions about mathematical concepts. All you need to do is display the front of the card and ask the questions on the back. These conversations help students to develop more accurate, efficient and flexible strategies for solving maths problems.
Recognise Different Ways to Represent Multiplication
This set of cards is a great teaching resource for helping students represent multiplication facts in a variety of ways, such as:
- Repeated addition
- Equal-sized groups

Print out the task cards front and back so that the prompts are displayed on the back of each card. The cards can also be put on a ring for added convenience. Consider printing the cards on thick card and laminating them to ensure they will last for many years to come!
