Create an odd and even number concertina to use as a tool during maths lessons on odd and even numbers.
Odd and Even Numbers Activity
This template aims to help reinforce their understanding of odd and even numbers by creating mini concertina books of even numbers and odd numbers. The numbers provided go up to 21; however, there is also a blank template that can be used for any numbers – this is a great way to open up this activity for differentiation by using more challenging, more complex numbers and discussing how students can quickly identify if they are odd or even using the end number.
Odd and Even Number Activities
- Create a scavenger hunt around the classroom or school, where students search for numbers and determine if they are odd or even.
- Number line walk – draw a number line on the floor or use a large number line poster. Call out numbers, and students have to walk and stand on the correct position to indicate if it’s odd or even.
- Create patterns on the board or using manipulatives, where students have to identify the pattern and continue it using odd or even numbers.
- Create a concertina booklet for odd numbers and even numbers using this printable template.
