🎶 One Of These Things Is Not Like The Other… 🎶 Observing Matter Made Fun!
In today’s classroom, engaging students in hands-on, interactive activities is more essential than ever—especially in subjects like science, where complex concepts can be challenging to grasp. Gamified learning activities transform lessons into fun, memorable experiences, helping students absorb information more effectively and confidently apply their knowledge. By integrating games and challenges, you can create an environment where your students are engaged, learning, and excited to discover the world around them! This year, we’re excited to help you gamify your Properties of Matter lessons with a brand new ‘Odd One Out’ Properties of Matter Game.
Odd One Out Game – Observable Properties of Matter Game
Introduce your students to the fascinating world of observable properties of matter with the “Odd One Out” game! This printable activity is designed to help students understand and identify observable properties of matter, including colour, texture, shape, state and more!
In each round, students will review a set of four items and determine which one doesn’t share the same property as the others. With categories ranging from solids, liquids, and gases to objects with varying shapes and textures, this game encourages critical thinking and supports key scientific concepts in a fun, interactive format.
The Odd One Out Game is perfect for group activities or individual practise. It can also be adapted for a whole group lesson by projecting the cards or setting up the activity as a game of SCOOT!
