Introduce the partitioning strategy to your students with this teaching presentation.

The Partitioning Strategy

Partitioning is an early addition and subtraction strategy students can use to determine the parts of a whole. This teaching presentation outlines multiple ways to use the partitioning strategy to determine how a number can be made from other numbers.

This presentation has three sections:

  • Using a Tens Frame
  • Drawing it Out
  • Using Fingers

Through this activity, students will learn multiple ways to practise the partitioning addition strategy.
