Label and learn about the different parts of a sloth with this cut and paste worksheet
🦥 Parts of a Sloth Worksheet
This cut-and-paste activity is the perfect addition to your animal adaptation lessons. When labelling the simple parts of the sloth, you can delve deeper into understanding the different features of this slow-moving mammal and how it survives in the tropical rainforest habitat.
After labelling the parts, discuss with students some of the simple features of the sloth and how it helps them in the wild. For example, how their long claws help them to climb trees and hang upside down. Or, how their fur can help camouflage when hiding in a tree.
Is your school getting involved in National Simultaneous Storytime for 2023? This activity is the perfect addition to your classroom activities to match the chosen book – The Speedy Sloth.
✂️ Give Them the (Safety) Scissors
This template makes for a bonus cutting skills activity, depending on your students’ ages and abilities.
With adult supervision, cutting skills help students work multiple muscle groups and their brains, plus:
- strengthen finger and hand muscles
- build dexterity and fine motor skills
- improve hand-eye coordination
- develop focus and attention.
And all of these skills are necessary to use a pencil and a fork; button a shirt and tie shoes; write, type and swipe.
Scissor skills are brain and muscle skills!
