Explore your students’ personalities and values with this fun personality island project.
Let’s Look at Our Personalities and Values
This teacher-created project is a fun way for students to look at their personality and values. In this project, students use the concept of personality islands as a way of defining their core values. Here are some of the activities included in this project:
- Students think about where they find happiness and what is important to them. They then brainstorm ideas by listing their core values.
- They brainstorm four islands that reflect their core values and name each island.
- Students then write down three attractions, such as memories or artifacts they might find on each island.
- Student completes a flyer about their core value islands and future islands currently ‘under construction.’
- Reflections – Students then reflect on their project about what they liked about the project and what they would do differently.
How to Use this Personality Project
This project is a great way to show students how to create a positive self-identity. This project is something that can be done over several lessons. Students can then present their personality islands to their classmates.
