Writing Persuasive Texts – What’s Your Favourite Season?

Kids love to talk about their favourite things – so why not use this to your advantage? This persuasive writing project has students brainstorm everything there is to know about each of the seasons. Then, they need to use that brainstorming to pick their favourite season and write three main reasons with supporting details for why the season they have chosen is the best.

The three main reasons will then support their plan for their introduction and conclusion. Finally, your students can write a persuasive text about why their favourite season is the best.

A set of three checklists has also been included to suit a range of levels, allowing for differentiation in this resource.

Persuasive Writing Templates

By providing students with a starting point for a topic, you eliminate writer’s block or time wasted trying to decide what they want to write about. 

Picking a topic like seasons that everyone has some knowledge of is also helpful for the variety of writing abilities you may have in your class. Here are some other persuasive writing prompt resources:
