Research Structural, Behavioral, and Physiological Adaptations

Are you ready to dive into the fascinating world of plant adaptations? Look no further! We’re thrilled to offer you a plethora of ideas and resources to kickstart your unit. With our expert guidance and top-notch tools, you can deliver engaging and effective instruction in no time.

Plants have incredible abilities to adapt to their environment through changes in behaviour, structure, and physiology. For example, the water lily has a distinctive behavioural adaptation of closing its flowers at night, while its flat leaves serve as a sturdy structural adaptation.  It’s fascinating how plants have evolved in such creative ways!

Discover a Variety of Plant Adaptations with Research Tasks

This task card set is designed to engage your students in research on various plants to identify the adaptations held by plants in different environments. Each of the 24 cards includes an image of a plant, its habitat, and a fun fact about the plant. Students will use the accompanying reference links to research the plant and determine what features the plant has that help it survive in its environment.

Students will record their answers on the included answer document for accountability. We have also included an answer key in your download.
