As the old saying goes: Money makes the world go round! For this reason, it’s important our students learn from an early age the importance of making sound financial decisions based on when to spend this precious resource, and when to save it!
This engaging and educational pocket money board game has been designed by our teacher team to teach essential money management skills to your students. As students journey around the game board, they’ll earn and spend pocket money by landing on squares which enable them to either save or spend. Some examples include:
- Made my bed (+50c)
- Set the table (+40c)
- Gave to charity (-50c)
- Bought a comic (-$1.50)
To play this game, you’ll need some plastic coins, a dice and a counter for each student to move around the game board. The resource comes with a cute change purse in which students can store their coins for the duration of the game.
Delving Deeper with This Pocket Money Board Game
This resource lends itself perfectly to having in-depth discussions with your students about the importance of financial literacy. After students play the game, bring the class back together to reflect on the game. You might wish to ask the students:
