Everyone loves puzzles! Help your students build skills with printable Tarsia puzzles to help them master single-and-multi-digit subtraction.

Use this resource when learning to solve subtraction sentences.

Using Printable Tarsia Puzzles in the Classroom

Each tile in a Tarsia puzzle contains a question or a problem statement on one side and the corresponding answer or solution on another side. The challenge for students is to match the questions with their correct answers by fitting the tiles together. When arranged correctly, the tiles form a coherent pattern or shape.

Students are to put the puzzle back together by connecting the difference with the corresponding number sentence. The puzzles start out with basic subtraction facts and move up in complexity. The hardest puzzle includes 3-digit numbers.

Your students are going to love this new practise activity!
