Grab Your Printable Remembrance Day Activities!
Special calendar events are approaching, so let’s get you prepped for all those upcoming commemorations in your classroom! We have created a special Remembrance Day reader for Year 1 and Year 2 students. Use this mini-book for an interactive read-aloud in the weeks surrounding Remembrance Day.
Students will identify high-frequency sight words through this group reading activity and use context clues and images to determine unknown words or phrases. They will discover when Remembrance Day is held, why we commemorate it, and who we remember on this special day.
Pair this reader with one of our many Remembrance Day crafts and make a unique Remembrance Day display in your classroom!
Alternative Uses For a Remembrance Day Book for Kids
We created this resource for circle time and reading lessons. In addition, we suggest these alternative uses to reinforce reading skills and new vocabulary words with your small group and full-class lessons:
- Print on thick card and assemble a small set of books for a reading centre activity where students read the books to each other as partners.
- Complete a booklet, print a copy for each student, and send them home as mini-readers to share with their family.
