Make a promise to protect the planet with a printable Earth Day flip book.
What Can We Change to Protect the Planet? Earth Day Activities for Kids
When we think about our impact on the planet, we tend to focus on big-picture issues. But our daily choices matter, too. The more we understand how our everyday choices affect the environment, the better able we will be to make sustainable decisions. We can even pass that knowledge down to little ones, helping create a future of Earth-friendly citizens.
We can help you teach your students how they can protect our planet with a fun printable Earth Day flip book activity this year. This printable resource guides your students through choosing three promises they will uphold to save the Earth.
Assembling Your Earth Day Craft Template
To create your flipbook,
- Cut out the cover of the flipbook. Cut on the thick black line around the edge. Cut the along the two vertical dotted lines to make three flaps.
- Cut out page 2 of the flipbook. Students will not need to cut the vertical lines on this page.
- Look at the icons on page 3. Each student chooses three pictures showing how they promise to help protect the Earth. Glue them to the front cover where it is marked.
- Pictures to assist students in creating four promises to the Earth:
- turning the lights off
- recycling
- growing plants
- riding bikes
- composting
- picking up litter.
Note: The second page contains picture cards for two students. Once they are printed, cut them in half before passing them out.
- turning the lights off
- Pictures to assist students in creating four promises to the Earth:
- Stack page 1 on top of page 2, and staple where marked. Beneath each flap, students will write sentences about how they can help the Earth. These sentences should match the picture on the cover. Have them colour and decorate their Earth Day Flip Book when finished.
