Practise reading comprehension with young students with a set of Read and Draw comprehension worksheets.
Drawing Pictures for Reading Comprehension– A Visualisation Strategy
Reading comprehension can be difficult for teachers and students, but it doesn’t have to be. By breaking down the process into smaller steps, you can help your students learn how to comprehend any text. One way to do this is by drawing pictures for comprehension.
Our Read and Draw Comprehension Worksheets teach young students to comprehend text by having them draw pictures of the story. With a clear focus on comprehension, these worksheets are perfect for use in reading groups and as homework activities. Each of the six worksheets includes a text, picture ideas and space for readers to include a story drawing.
Through this activity, students will demonstrate knowledge with the following skills:
- Reading comprehension
- Identifying essential details in a text.
- Retelling a story using pictures or words.
Tips for Differentiation + Scaffolding
