A fun worksheet to explore whether items roll or slide.

Use this physical science worksheet with your students when discussing whether everyday classroom items would roll or slide.

Ask your students if they think each item would roll or slide. Instruct them to draw a circle around the things that they think would roll, and to underline things they think would slide.

Hands-On Roll or Slide Activities

Make this a hands-on science activity by collecting the items on the worksheet and conducting an investigation. Prop up a flat ramp (this might be a desk that you have raised up on one end or a large piece of cardboard that is higher at one end.) Then, encourage students to see if their predictions are correct by placing items at the top of the ramp to roll or slide to the bottom.
