Review Rotational Symmetry

If you’ve been spending time teaching your Grade Four students about rotational symmetry, and are looking for a fun and interactive learning checkpoint, this huge 49-page interactive activity is perfect for you and your learners. 

Vibrant and visually engaging, this digital activity will have your students keen to test their knowledge and check their understanding of the concept of rotational symmetry!

Students answer the questions by reading the instructions and then clicking on the buttons to indicate their answers. The activity will either indicate if they are correct or not. 

If they’re correct (yay!) they are directed to the next question, if incorrect (no worries!)  they will be directed back to the question to try again.

Through this activity, students will show that they recognise rotational symmetry of shapes and are able to create symmetrical patterns and pictures, using dynamic geometric software.

🆘 Support Struggling Students

Provide students with shapes (such as pattern blocks) they can manipulate in a  hands-on way to test the rotational symmetry.

➕ Challenge Fast Finishers

For the first set of questions in the activity, students can record the order of rotational symmetry for each shape. They could also create their own pattern using shapes like in the last set of questions and record the order of symmetry.

🧑‍🏫 Group Learning

Project the slides onto a screen and work through them as a class by having students record their answers in their notebooks or mini whiteboards.
