Rounding Decimals – Printable Math Games

Do your students need additional practice with rounding decimals? Rather than giving your students a worksheet to complete, why not embrace their inner competitiveness and encourage them to play a Teach Starter Bump! game

This resource comes with a set of directions and four different Bump! game boards. Students can choose or be assigned a specific game board to practise rounding to a specific place value.

To play:

  • The first player will roll their dice and add the digits together. The player will find the matching value on the BUMP game board and solve the problem. Find the answer and cover it up with a game piece.
  • The next player will take the same steps as the first player. If the answer already has a game piece on it, the player can bump the piece off of the board and replace it with their own game piece. If the player gets a value that already has one of their game pieces on it, they add another piece, and this space is locked and cannot be bumped off.

Through this activity, maths students will show they can round to the nearest whole number, tenth and hundredth.

Tips for Differentiation + Scaffolding

A team of dedicated, experienced educators created this resource to support your maths lessons.

If you have a mixture of above and below-level learners, check out these suggestions for keeping students on track with the concepts:

🆘 Support Struggling Students

If there are students who need additional support, invite them to reference previous assignments, posters, or anchor charts to remind them of the rules of rounding.

➕ Challenge Fast Finishers

For students who need a bit of a challenge, encourage them to list additional numbers that round to a given number inside of a soccer ball.
