Encourage your students to practise rounding decimals to the nearest whole number, tenth and hundredth with this set of number search worksheets.

Round to One Decimal Place, Two Decimal Places and Whole Number!

Are you looking for a fun resource to help your students refine their understanding of rounding with decimals? Teach Starter has created a set of engaging worksheets to help your students solidify their understanding of place value and rounding.

This teacher-created resource comes with three different versions, each focusing on rounding to a different place value. Whether you give students a printable version or perhaps you want to have them complete this digitally with the paint bucket tool, your class will have fun rounding their way through the three different number searches.

How to Use These Number Search Worksheets

This teacher-created set of worksheets will give your student the opportunity to practise rounding to the nearest whole number, tenth and hundredth. Each worksheet is marked with a star in the upper right-hand corner, designating which version they are working on.

⭐ Round each number to the nearest whole number.

⭐⭐ Round each number to the nearest tenth.

⭐⭐⭐ Round each number to the nearest hundredth.

After students have rounded each of the numbers, they will look for the rounded answer in the number search grid. The correct answers may be found horizontally or vertically.

You will find that there are answer keys included to make grading quick and easy!

When teaching your students how many places to include after rounding, remind them to drop the digits after the place to which they are rounding. For example, if they are rounding 2.345 to the nearest hundredth, they would find 2.35 in the grid rather than 2.350. (This may lead to a good conversation about how these are equal, but it is not necessary to include the final zero(s).)

Looking for a way to challenge your students? Try giving them a blank version of the template and encourage them to create their own number search and trade with a classmate.

How to Get Your Decimal Rounding Worksheet

Are you ready for your students to start their hunt for rounded numbers? Head on over to the green download button and choose between the quick-print PDF document or the editable Google Slides file. If you choose the Google Slides option, you will first be prompted to make a copy of the resource to your personal drive before accessing it.
