Teach Your Students How to Round with Decimals on a Number Line

As students begin their journey with numbers from an early age, they start to learn how one number is closer to another based on its position on a number line. This concept still rings true even in the older grade levels. Using a number line can be a great concept to help students visualise where a decimal is located and to which number it rounds.

Teach Starter has created a set of worksheets aligned to the V9 Standards that are suitable for your year 5, 6 and 7 students to help them determine numbers that fall on both sides of the number line and then use their position to accurately round a decimal.

This teacher-created resource includes 3 double-sided worksheets where students will fill in missing numbers on a number line and round it to the appropriate place. Each version is designated with stars in the upper right-hand corner.

⭐ Students will round decimals to the nearest whole number.

⭐⭐ Students will round decimals to the nearest tenth.

⭐⭐⭐ Students will round decimals to the nearest hundredth.

Answer keys for each level are also included for easy grading!
