Are you looking for a resource that will enable your students to practise rounding large numbers using a number line? You’ve found it! Our differentiated rounding on a number line worksheet set offers two levels of difficulty and can be used as an independent practise or partner activity.
This differentiated resource includes:
- Level 1 worksheet with pre-filled number lines (labelled for partner use)
- Level 1 worksheet with pre-filled number lines (labelled for individual use)
- Level 2 worksheet with blank number lines (labelled for partner use)
- Level 2 worksheet with blank number lines (labelled for individual use)
- Answer keys
This rounding on a number line worksheet set asks students to round to place values up to the hundred thousands place. We have made it available in PDF and Google Slides versions for easy printing and editing.
Using Our Rounding Using a Number Line Worksheet Set
With our rounding using a number line worksheet set, you’re in control! If you want your students to complete these worksheets individually, choose the level 1 or 2 version with the name and date lines at the top.
However, if you would like your students to complete this activity in partners, choose the level 1 or 2 rounding on a number line worksheet with “Partner 1” and “Partner 2” on top. We suggest having students complete this worksheet together in “Rally Coach” style. Here’s how!
Instructions:
- Pair students up. Both partners put their names on the top of the worksheet.
- Partner 1 will solve the first problem on the worksheet. Partner 2 looks on and coaches as needed.
- Once both students agree that the answer is correct, Partner 2 praises Partner 1.
- Partner 2 solves the second problem. This time, Partner 1 looks on and coaches and praises as needed.
- The pair continues solving the problems on the worksheet until they are all completed.
