A Rounding Poster That Rocks!
Our rounding poster and worksheet set will help your students “rock” at rounding! The poster contains lyrics to part of the “Rounding Rock,” which is sung to the tune of a verse from “We Will Rock You.” Play it for your students by clicking here.
Lyrics:
Find the place,
Look next door,
Five or more — raise the score!
Four or less, let it rest,
Look to the right — zeros in sight!
We will, we will, round you!
We will, we will, round you!
Use the song and rounding poster to teach your students to round and the worksheet to let them practise what they have learnt!
Using Our Year 4 Rounding Worksheet
This resource includes both a poster of the Rounding Rock and a matching practise sheet. Here is our recommendation to best utilise the included year 4 rounding worksheet:
- Print the worksheet on cardboard.
- Laminate the worksheet or slip it into a clear plastic sleeve.
- Provide each student with a copy and a dry erase marker.
- Give students a number to round.
- Students write the number in the top row of the place value chart.
- Tell students what place value to round the number to.
- Students round the number to the given place value and write their answer in the second row.
- Say “1, 2, 3!” On 3, students raise their rounding worksheet to show you their answers.
