How to Create-Your-Own Rounding Numbers Game
This rounding whole numbers game allows students to practise rounding numbers to the hundreds, thousands, ten thousands and hundred thousands place. You will find that this rounding numbers game addresses numerous maths standards across multiple year levels.
Instructions:
- Print the resource on cardboard or lightly coloured paper so the cards are not see-through.
- Give students a set of question cards, answer cards and an answer key sheet.
- Students fill in the question cards with 12 rounding problems and write the answer to each of them on one of the green answer cards. (IMPORTANT: Make sure students mix up where they put their answers so that the matches aren’t predictable!)
- Students fill in the answer key as they create their problems so that other students who play their game can check their work.
- When all is finished, students will cut apart their cards and place them and the answer key into a large press-and-seal baggie.
- When students want to play a game, simply give them a recording sheet and they’re good to go!
