Design and build a royal carriage fit for a King or Queen.
Celebrate the King’s Coronation in Style – Coronation Craft
Let your students’ creative juices wild with this 3D paper royal carriage template. Take this opportunity to research and learn about the Gold State Coach, which has been used every coronation since 1831! Then, students can decorate and create their very own royal carriage fit for a King (or Queen).
Please note: Learning about the coronation of King Charles III and other events connected to the British Royal Family can be triggering to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people groups, due to the ongoing trauma faced since the point of colonisation.
King Charles III will begin his reign with growing pressure to honour treaties with First Nations People and repair some of the damage caused by the process of colonisation. These resources aim to share information on King Charles III’s life and the coronation ceremony traditions.
✂️ Give Them the (Safety) Scissors
This template makes for a bonus cutting skills activity, depending on your students’ ages and abilities.
With adult supervision, cutting skills help students work multiple muscle groups and their brains, plus:
- strengthen finger and hand muscles
- build dexterity and fine motor skills
- improve hand-eye coordination
- develop focus and attention.
And all of these skills are necessary to use a pencil and a fork; button a shirt and tie shoes; write, type, and swipe.
Scissor skills are brain and muscle skills!
