This inquiry-based research task enables students to explore and celebrate the life of a significant First Nations Australian.
A cross-curricular inquiry task with an integrated English component
Students imagine that they are presenting a speech at the National NAIDOC Awards. To complete the task, they must:
- choose an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person who has made a significant contribution to their field
- research the life and achievements of the person they have chosen
- plan, write and rehearse their speech
- present their speech to the class.
