Looking for a Soil Worksheet?

This resource intertwines reading comprehension and Earth Science. Students will learn about the creation of soil. 

This science worksheet has a reading passage focusing on how soil is created. Following the passage, students are required to answer seven questions about the reading material. Question types range from multiple-choice, short response and circling activities. 

An answer key is included with your download to make making fast and easy!  

Multiple Applications of This Soil Creation Worksheet 

This handy Science worksheet can be used in a variety of ways in your primary classroom. Some suggestions are outlined below.

  • Lesson warm-up or wrap-up (via smartboard)
  • Collaborative group activity

  • Summative assessment.

For fast finishers, encourage students to create a soil profile showing the different types of soils. 

For students that need additional support, invite them to complete the activity in a 1:1 setting or with a small group.
