Practise sorting objects based on observable properties with a pair of printable cut and paste worksheets.
Observing Matter Made Easy!
Are you on the hunt for printable resources to help your little learners practise their skills with classifying objects based on observable properties? Are you struggling to find resources that are age-appropriate? If so, you’re in the right place! The Teach Starter team has been hard at work creating new printable resources made especially for your early years’ students! This year, we’re excited to help you get your students up to speed with classifying and observing matter with brand-new cut-and-paste activities like this one!
Classifying Matter Using Observable Properties Worksheets
This printable resource is designed for our youngest scientists. It includes two cut-and-paste worksheet activities in which students will use their senses to observe a variety of objects and sort them into categories. Each worksheet features two categories (spiky & smooth, large & small) for students to sort objects into.
This resource is a perfect addition to your lesson plans when studying Matter and the observable properties of materials. It works well as an independent practise activity, science centre activity, or take-home science activity for students to complete with a grown-up.
Download and Print!
This resource is available as an editable Google Slides resource, as well as a quick-print PDF file. To get your copy, click the dropdown arrow on the download button and select your preferred file type.
More Matter Activities for Early Years!
Don’t stop there! We’ve got even more ways to teach your students about the observable properties of matter. Make sure you check these resources out before you go!
