Make Spelling Fun with a Bazinga! A Sight Word Spelling Card Game!

Turn spelling practise into an exciting game with this Dolch Sight Word Spelling Card Game! Inspired by the classic UNO-style gameplay, this engaging activity helps students reinforce their sight word reading and spelling skills while having fun. Designed for early elementary students, the game includes sight word cards for Primer, Grade 1, Grade 2, and Grade 3, allowing you to differentiate based on your students’ individual needs. We’ve put together both colour and black-and-white printing options for each level, making this spelling card game perfect for small-group instruction and literacy centres.

How to Play Our Interactive Sight Word Games

Our Interactive Sight Word Games follow a simple, familiar game format that keeps students engaged while they practise essential spelling skills. The set includes:

  • Game Cards featuring grade-level Dolch sight words
  • Action Cards (Skip, Reverse, Draw Two, etc.) to add excitement to the game
  • Game Rules with easy-to-follow instructions for teachers and students

In this game, players will take turns drawing, reading, covering, and spelling words aloud while using strategy to outplay their opponents. The first player to get rid of all their cards and shout BAZINGA! wins!

Teacher Tip: This resource is fully editable, so feel free to change the words on the cards to match your spelling programs or other subject areas.
