Print this Stoat – New Zealand Animal Poster out and display it in your classroom when studying New Zealand animals.

Information includes:

Stoats are long and thin with short legs, small ears and thick warm fur. They have a good sense of smell, which they use for hunting and communicating.

Stoats were introduced to New Zealand to control rabbits, but are now the biggest threat to New Zealand’s native birds.

Stoats have mostly been contained to the mainland but they are strong swimmers and have been found on islands 5 kilometres away.
