Subitising Warm-up

Learning how to subitise numbers is a special skill students learn in their beginning years of school. Use this presentation as a lesson starter with students recalling the number of objects without counting them individually.

The presentation includes collections of objects from one to five.

To play, display the presentation on a screen for all students to see. Have them write their answer on mini-whiteboards, hold up their fingers or call out their answers. It is designed to be a quick-fire round of subitising.

Through this activity, students will show they can subitise small collections of objects.
