Practise identifying and using synonyms in sentences with differentiated synonyms worksheets.
Synonym Study Builds Stronger Students!
In today’s competitive academic environment, it’s essential for students to have a wide vocabulary to excel in their studies. One effective way to improve vocabulary is through consistent daily review activities, particularly when it comes to synonyms or words that mean the same. By regularly reviewing and practising these language skills, students can broaden their range of expression, enhance their comprehension, and ultimately achieve greater success in all subject areas.
Differentiated Synonym Worksheets for Kids
No need to differentiate! We’ve done the work for you! This resource is available in two levels – upper and lower. We’ve differentiated the vocabulary used to benefit students with limited and advanced vocabulary skills. We’ve marked the worksheets with a symbol in the upper-right corner to help you decide which version to use with different students.
Symbols are as follows:
🔵 Lower-level Vocabulary
🔺 Upper-level Vocabulary
Students will read a sentence and identify the synonym for the bolded word.
This resource can be used as independent practice after a lesson, or why not use it as part of your lesson by projecting it on the dry-erase board and working through the sentences together as a whole class?
Use the drop-down menu to choose between the PDF or Google slides version. An answer key is included in the download.
