Converting to 24 Hour Time – That’s Tough!

Telling time on a 24-hour clock can be confusing, especially when kids are just starting to learn. They’re not always clear on how the numbers change when switching from morning time to afternoon/evening time. This can make it frustrating to figure out what time it is. To help, we’ve found a way to make it easier for everyone to learn how to tell time on a 24-hour clock. Our solution makes it clear whether it’s morning or afternoon/evening time, and it gives your students the extended practise that they need to master this skill.

This printable Year 5 Time conversion worksheet is the perfect way to build in a bit of extra practise for your students. This single sheet provides students with multiple ways to practise their ability to convert between 12 and 24-hour time. To complete this worksheet, students will:

  • Fill in the Missing P.M. Hours on a Blank Clock
  • Convert Digital 24-Hour times to Digital 12-hour times
  • Convert 12 Hour times to 24 Hour times in a table format
  • Read analogue clocks, then determine the matching 24-hour time.
