Read different clock faces to tell time to the nearest hour and half hour with an interactive slide deck.
Practise Telling Time to the Nearest Hour and Half Hour
Help your students get a feeling for the time by applying the correct time to the faces of clocks!
To use, display the slides to your class. Use choral responses or call on students to identify the time on analogue clocks and find the matching representation.
This resource includes a variety of slides with different activities to help students practise telling time from analogue and digital clocks to the nearest hour and half hour using a.m. and p.m.
NOTE: Display Google Slides in Edit mode (instead of Present mode) to use the interactive features.
Differentiating Instruction for Struggling Learners
This activity involves dragging and dropping objects to reinforce the concept of telling time to the nearest hour and half-hour. If students have difficulty grasping the concept, they can be provided with a handheld clock during the activity. This clock will help them understand the minutes associated with each number on the clock face. Once students are comfortable, they can complete the activities without using the clock.
