Convert increments of time, including seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, and months, with a printable Time Conversion matching activity.
⏰ Looking for a Time Conversion Activity?
Are your students learning to convert units with increments of time? Understanding how to manipulate numbers within each unit of measurement is helpful in many everyday situations. To help students master this skill, Teach Starter has created a match-up activity for your students to practise converting units of time.
To play, cut out the cards and lay them in the playing area. Provide each student with a recording sheet. Students work together or independently to create matches. Each matching pair will consist of a conversion card and a corresponding answer.
Students will use multiplication and division to convert measurement units through this activity.
Differentiate Your Unit Conversion Practise With Ease
- If students need additional support, invite them to reference conversion posters to remind them how to transform units properly.
- Encourage students who need an additional challenge to convert to smaller measurement units. For example, these students might attempt to convert larger units (days) into tiny units (minutes) via multi-step division problems.
