Multiple Uses for This Procedural Writing Example
This procedural writing activity can be used in multiple ways in your writing lessons. Here are a few ideas for you to consider:
- Whole-Class Activity – Print the resource out at an enlarged size and cut out the sequence of steps. Have the students work together as a class to physically arrange the steps in the correct order. The steps could be attached to a classroom bulletin board for future reference.
- Group Work – Divide students into small groups to work on ordering the steps of the “How to Wash Your Dog” procedure together. This encourages collaboration, discussion and collective problem-solving among your students.
