Welcome to Fraction Fun Explorer – Fraction Roll and Cover Game

Discover an immersive and educational journey through the world of unit fractions with our interactive game board. Students engage in a thrilling adventure as they roll the dice, strategically covering various images of unit fractions within different shapes. This dynamic gameplay transforms the sometimes challenging topic of unit fractions into an enjoyable and hands-on experience.

Equipped with dice and game boards, students take turns rolling and covering unit fractions in captivating shapes. The game not only reinforces their understanding of fractions as parts of a whole but also hones their strategic thinking as they navigate through different images and shapes. The intuitive design ensures that learning is not only effective but also a delightful experience.

Step-by-Step How to Play this Unit Fraction Game

  1. Partner Play or Solo Adventure: Whether teaming up with a partner for collaborative learning or embarking on a solo adventure. This versatile game can be played both ways. If in partners, students will need to pick a handful of counters the same colour (but different from one another).
  2. Roll the Die and Speak Aloud: The excitement begins with each roll of the die! The students take turns rolling and deciding which unit fraction they’ll pop their counter on. They must confidently announce the unit fraction before claiming that spot.
  3. Continue the Adventure: The exploration doesn’t end with a single roll! Continue the adventure until all of the unit fraction models are covered. This repetitive and engaging process ensures that students reinforce their understanding of unit fractions, promoting a comprehensive grasp of fractions as parts of a whole.
