Assess your students' knowledge of verb tenses with this 5-question quiz.
Test Verb Tense Knowledge
This quiz style worksheet has been created to help assess students knowledge of verb tenses in a quick quiz. Students need to find the sentence that contains the specified verb tense. While this resource sits as the perfect independent check point activity, it can also work as a great check in as a whole class activity at any point during your verb tense lesson. Simply project the worksheet on the dry-erase board and work through the questions together.
Looking for a more interactive way to use the resource? Why not print it out, cut out the questions, and spread them around the room? Then, have student pairs rotate through the questions, answering each one.
Why Teach Verb Tense to Children?
When teaching students about verbs, it’s also important to teach them about verb tense. Understanding verb tense allows children the ability to convey when an action is taking past, whether it be in the past, present or future. Not only does it improve their writing skills but it also enhances comprehension while reading as it aides in them understanding the sequence of events in texts.
