This Remembrance Day Vocabulary and Writing Center provides a fun, interactive way to help young students understand this commemorative event. The set contains 16 vocabulary word/picture cards that students use to write about the commemoration. Students can refer to the vocabulary cards while completing the writing prompts in their centres.

Display the Remembrance Day Vocabulary cards on the board or in a pocket chart and discuss them with your scholars. Once they are familiar with the reasons we commemorate Remembrance Day and the terms used, provide them with one of the included worksheets.

Through this activity, students will increase their vocabulary and build skills in writing sentences with academic vocabulary.
