🌧️ Where Does the Water Come From?

Teaching kids about water sources is an important topic that helps them understand the value of water, where it comes from, and how to conserve it. Here are some strategies and activities to engage children in learning about water sources:

  • Introduce the water cycle concept, explaining how water evaporates from bodies of water, forms clouds, and falls back to the Earth as precipitation.
  • Using this Teaching Presentation and workbook, discuss various water sources, such as rivers, lakes, oceans, and groundwater. Explain the importance of each source and how they contribute to the overall water supply.
  • Hands-on experiments can be a fun and effective way for children to understand water sources. For example, set up a mini water cycle experiment using a bowl of water, plastic wrap, and a heat source. Let children observe condensation and precipitation in action.
