Activate your students' prior knowledge about the seasons using this worksheet which prompts them to state which is their favourite season and justify their choice.
My Favourite Season Worksheet
Encouraging your young students to activate their prior knowledge about the seasons, and have them complete this writing piece expressing and justifying their choice.
This simple yet effective activity encourages children to:
- Identify Their Preferences: The worksheet begins by inviting students to choose their favourite season by circling its name. This initial step allows them to exercise decision-making skills, building confidence and a sense of control over their choices.
- Written Expression: Once their favourite season is chosen, students are encouraged to explain why they like it. This part of the worksheet promotes written communication and language development.
- Creativity and Imagination: The last section invites students to use their creative flair by drawing a picture of themselves enjoying their favourite season. This task allows them to harness their imaginative abilities, enhance fine motor skills, and create a visual representation of the characteristics of their chosen season.
Through completion of this task, students will demonstrate their ability to describe seasonal changes in the environment and explore how these changes affect everyday life.
