A set of 5 worksheets for students to practise segmenting and blending common CVC words.
Use these simple worksheets to provide your students with opportunities to practise their segmenting and blending skills.
Each row of the worksheet contains a picture and three accompanying words. The students apply their phonemic knowledge to decode each word, then circle the word that matches the picture.
You may like your students to complete the worksheets independently. Alternatively, project a worksheet onto your interactive whiteboard and complete the task as a whole class.
All five worksheets contain simple CVC (consonant, vowel, consonant) words.
Looking for ways to extend your more capable learners? Why not ask them to write a sentence or two using the circled words from the worksheet.
