This Visual Arts unit addresses the history of Aboriginal art in Australia and the variety of techniques used in different artworks.
It consists of 9 lessons of approximately 60 minutes duration.
The sequence of lessons and suggested time frames should be regarded as a guide only; teachers should pace lessons in accordance with the individual learning needs of their class.
An assessment task for monitoring student understanding of the unit objectives is included and will require an additional lesson.

Can I ask if this unit was written by or in consultation with First Nations People? If not, have you had it endorsed by First Nations People?
Hi Belinda, Thank you for your question. I can tell you that the resource was not created in collaboration with a particular First Nations people or community, but at the time the resource was made, Teach Starter was working with Dirrabou Consultancy who ran a full-day workshop with our staff, helping to clarify and increase our own awareness and understanding of how to embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into the resources that we make for you. In the lesson plan pdf, there is a link to browse indigenous Australian collection... https://www.teachstarter.com/teaching-resource-collection/indigenous-australians/ which doesn't work...
