A foldable bat-themed number expander for students to record 3-digit place value.
Use this teaching resource in the numeracy classroom when exploring 3-digit place value.
Print a class set for your students to record a 3-digit number:
- as a digit
- in expanded form
- using MAB
- as hundreds, tens and ones.
After recording their expanded numbers, ask the students to decorate their bats and cut them out. Instruct the students to then fold in the wings to make a 3-digit number expander.
Use the students’ bats to create a place value display in the classroom.
