A fun game for students to play in small groups to consolidate their understanding of place value to thousands.
Students will love challenging each other using this fun, engaging place value game.
Print out and laminate copies of the score sheets and number cards. An example score sheet is provided as a demonstration of how to play the game.
Students draw a number card. This becomes their starting number. Each player then takes to turns to spin the spinner. Whatever instruction is spun must then be applied to the starting number (add 10, subtract 10, add 100, subtract 100, add 1000, subtract 1000). The revised number is then recorded in the appropriate column on the score sheet.
The player whose number is closest to 10 000 at the end of the game is the winner.
More comprehensive instructions on how to play the game are included in the resource.
