A worksheet to use to practise finding missing addends.

This worksheet is an engaging way for students to work on missing addends, as it is also a maze.

A Mental Computation Activity

Your students will have the opportunity to consolidate their mental computation skills in this addition activity.

The printable worksheet includes the following types of calculations:

  • making 10
  • doubling to 20
  • adding 10 to a two-digit number
  • adding a one-digit number to a two-digit number.

Students require a die to complete this addition worksheet. They throw the die and then correctly complete any equation that uses the number they have thrown. The goal is for students to help Sam find the way to his bike – in much the same way as one completes a maze. To find Sam’s path, equations that sit on top of or alongside each other must be solved. Students colour the squares to indicate the path they choose.

This worksheet can be completed individually or with a partner. If playing with a partner, each player will need to use a different coloured pencil to shade their squares.
