How Do You Assess Letter-Sound Correspondence?

Knowing the letters in the alphabet and the symphony of sounds each letter makes is the first step in decoding the code of reading. Teaching these concepts early quickly allows your little learners to unlock words, sentences, and stories on their own. But how do you ensure that your foundation students are on the right path to literacy achievement? With assessments, of course!

There are loads of literacy assessments out there, and many of them aren’t truly designed for efficient use in the classroom. Sometimes, all you need is a simple assessment that allows for the testing of multiple skills and a way to track student data that doesn’t require yet another expensive computer program. This year, we’re excited to help you collect student data easily with our printable Letter-Sound Correspondence assessment pack.
