A fun comprehension strategy board game for students to play during literacy rotations.

Use this teaching resource in the classroom during literacy rotations to reinforce and develop reading and comprehension strategies.

Students work their way towards the finish by answering a range of text-related questions on the game board and by collecting and answering as many comprehension ‘key’ cards. The student with the most amount of comprehension ‘keys’ at the end of the game is the winner!

As the questions in the game are open-ended for any text, answers have not been provided.

This resource includes:

  • 1  Comprehension Keys Board Game
  • 11 comprehension ‘key’ cards
  • 3 ‘Free Key!’ cards
  • 2 blank ‘key’ cards
  • 1 instruction page.

Print and laminate the Comprehension Keys Board Game and instruction page. Print each comprehension ‘key’ card then cut out the cards, fold them in half, creating a front and a back, and laminate each card to create a class set. Store in a zip-lock bag for easy access and use during literacy group activities.
