A worksheet to develop younger students’ understanding of experiment design.

Use this worksheet when exploring how to design a science experiment in accordance with the scientific method.

Students cut out the steps to designing an experiment, then sequence them in the correct order. They glue the strips into their workbooks under the headings ‘Before’ and ‘After’.

While the order of the first three steps would be: ‘Aim’, ‘Hypothesis’, then ‘Prediction’, the other steps (‘Variables’, ‘Equipment’ and ‘Method’) could be placed in any order within the ‘Before’ heading.

This resource was created in conjunction with Janine Wedmaier at our Let’s Collaborate event.
