A cut and match activity to help your students correctly punctuate sentences.
Use this teaching resource when learning about sentence punctuation and editing.
Your class will love to use these cute puppets to help them fix these badly punctuated sentences!
- Cut out the punctuation puppets and attach to a paddle pop stick or a strip of paper to make a finger puppet.
- Print out the sentences on Landscape A3 paper. Cut out each sentence and combine into strips to display on your whiteboard or wall.
- Invite your students to hold up their punctuation puppets to fill in the boxes where the punctuation is missing.
Please note: Some sentences are missing only one type of punctuation, while some are missing multiple punctuation marks.
Differentiate this activity by creating further sentences to ‘fix’ that are missing a colon, semi-colon, hyphen and en-dash (puppets provided).
