A whole-class game to consolidate students' understanding of place value.

Use this teaching resource in the classroom as a fun whole class game when exploring place value with your students.

Print, cut and laminate the game cards. Provide each student with a card.

The student that has the sentence ‘I am the starter’ begins the game by standing up and reading their card.

Once they have read their clue, the student that has the matching number on their card stands up and reads what is on their card.

The game continues until the last person reads out ‘I am the last number!’.

An alternate version of the resource is also available via the drop-down menu. This version has students read, ‘Who has 2 tens and 3 ones?’ and respond, ‘I have the number 23.’
